Birchbox February 2014 Purchases

I can never seem to keep my Birchbox points for long, I always want to spend them as soon as I accrue them! This time I bought a few things because I had 100 points, and a 3 month anniversary code. (If you've been subscribing for 3 months and never got a code, it's 3MONTHS20, takes 20% off your order.) I did the famous Birchbox cart shuffle, trying to get the perfect dollar amount with my 20% off coupon, adding the mystery bonus sample pack to my order, paying for enough of it to round out my points, and get a few things I've been eyeing from my past boxes. It takes finesse, but I finally managed the perfect cart order, and here's what I got:

Benefit Fakeup in Light - ($24) I've been eyeing this since I saw it would be in some of the February boxes. I need a concealer since I don't have one, and this is specifically for hiding under eye dark spots. I think this was the only February product I saw that I liked and didn't receive, so I thought what better way to try it than a 20% off coupon.

Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk - ($19.50) I got a sample of this in my January box, and I've already used up the sample because I loved it so much! This was perfect for the days when I didn't wash my hair, but wanted my hair to look freshly clean. It works wonders!

Birchbox Man Mystery Two Pack Sample Pack - (normally $10, free with $35+ order) They were out of the Women's Mystery Pick Two, and if you're making a Birchbox order, it's always worth it to make it more than $35 and grab one of these Pick Two packs. You get two free mystery samples with your order. I received Billy Jealousy Liquidsand Facial Cleanser and Jack Black Industrial Strength Hand Healer. Not bad! I'll actually probably use these instead of handing them off to B.

Chuao Chocolate Bar in Maple Bacon - ($6) I needed something inexpensive to add to my cart, and I've been wanting to try these. I grabbed the Maple Bacon flavor for B, but I plan on getting the assorted sample pack with all the flavors in my next Birchbox order.

I don't know what was up with the shipping on this, but it took 8 days for this to arrive from time I got my shipping confirmation. My tracking code didn't even populate for almost a week, I thought for sure this was lost.

My order was originally priced at $59.50, but with the 20% 3 month code, free sample pack, and $10 gift card of points from my second Birchbox account, it came out to $29.60 that I paid. That meant that it was enough to get 29 points on my main account, giving me over 100 points once again to use towards a $10 item (I plan on getting the Chuao Assorted Sample Pack).

Birchbox is only $10 a month and they send you 4-6 (usually sample size) products. If you really like the sample, they offer the full size version on their shop for you to purchase, or you can use your points you receive every month for reviewing your box products to get items on the shop.
