Birchbox September 2014 Review

I got a late September Birchbox for some extra points and to get in on October's box what with the Beauty Blender as one of the possible products. I just haven't been as excited for my Birchboxes lately, but I figure with the holidays coming up, I may as well try to collect as many points as I can for holiday presents.

September's Birchbox arrived in 8 days via Newgistics delivered by USPS, from Tennessee to California.

The box design was so cute this month! I was a little upset to hear some people who got their box before me didn't get the cute patterned box because they ran out or something? I feel bad they missed out, but I'm happy with the box I received.

As always, here's the info card for my box.

Acure Organics Day Cream - ($10.75) Even though I'm still young, I want to be using anti-aging products as early as possible. This daily moisturizer has anti-aging properties to it, so I'm looking forward to using it. And it smells citrusy which will be nice to use in the morning to help me wake up.

dr. brandt pores no more vacuum cleaner - ($11.25) So far, I have liked all the dr. brandt products I've tried, so I'm sure I'll like this one. But, I don't get a lot of blackheads. So, I don't know if I would notice a difference after using this, but I'll give it a shot.

Dear Clark Resurrecting Wash and Rinse - ($5.50) These have a lovely herbal scent to them, I think they are going in my shower to be used next. Even though they are called wash and rinse, they are just shampoo and conditioner. This is perfect timing though, I'm almost out of my last shampoo sample that I was using.

Temptu S/B Highlighter in Champagne Shimmer - ($2.75) I don't know why I seem to get a highlighter in pretty much every subscription box I've received, but this one is too dark for my skin tone. It almost looks like bronzer on me, definitely not a highlighter. It could maybe be salvaged by mixing a little with a foundation, and I like how fine the glitter is.

Overall, this month's Birchbox had a total value of $30.25, which was pretty good, but I am not excited by the highlighter. I usually get pretty dull boxes when I subscribe at the end of the month, but at least I got some replacement shampoo and conditioner.

What did you think of this month's Birchbox? Let me know in the comments!

Birchbox is only $10 a month and they send you 5-6 (usually sample size) products. If you really like the sample, they offer the full size version on their shop for you to purchase.
