Fortune Cookie Soap Summer 2015 Straight On Till Morning Soap Box Review

I just got my Summer Fortune Cookie Soap box! After seeing some of the sneak peeks and spoilers, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this box. I was never really big into Peter Pan, which is what this box is inspired by, but I always loved Tinkerbell because I have a thing for fairies. And there were two new products for Fortune Cookie Soap, which is always fun to try!

About - Fortune Cookie Soap is a bath and body shop, owned by Shannon and Justin, a wife and husband duo. They've done quite a bit of expanding in the past year, and have a quarterly subscription box, quarterly seasonal releases, quite a few limited edition collections, and they also have a Create Your Own, where you get to decide on the scent for products. They specialize in their namesake product, the fortune cookie soap, as well as, bath bombs, body butter, scrubs, hair oils, wax tarts, and all kinds of other bath and body products.

Shipping - My box shipped 3 days after the Soap Boxes started shipping, and arrived in 2 days via USPS from Oklahoma to California.

Product Size - Everything in the quarterly Soap Box is in a smaller sample form, except the Fortune Cookie Soap which only comes in one size. And the perfume oil and OCD hand sanitizer are in the smaller sizes that you can purchase on the site. There are a few new products in this box, but I'm not sure what the full size will be like when they go on sale.

Free Samples - Usually there are no free samples included with the Soap Box, but we did get a little feather decoration. And of course every box includes a $10 off coupon code to use on anything you'd like in the shop, which is now emailed to you instead of being on the back of the info card.

I love their printed info cards, they are always so beautifully designed, and this one looks great too.

Second Star to the Right Fortune Cookie Soap - "Crushed berries and mint leaves with a splash of sparkling pomelo, served over iced sugarcane."

I'm a bit disappointed my soap isn't as pretty as some of the others I've seen, but it does have quite a bit of glitter inside. This mostly smells of berries. It definitely is one of the prettiest fortune cookie soaps I've had so far.

Tink OCD Hand Sanitizer - "Fresh cherries in cream, sprinkled with toasted coconut and a fairy dusting of powder sugar."

On the skin, this mostly smells of vanilla and a faint whiff of coconut. It's sweet, but I don't really get the cherries. Also of note, there is a bit of mica or small glitter in this, but it's so small, it didn't show up on my hands after using.

Lost Boys Whipped Cream - "Golden apricot muddled with fresh white peaches."

This smells really creamy and I can pick out apricots and peaches after reading the notes, but without knowing, it just smells like sweet fruits and vanilla. I really enjoy this one, it might be a scent I'd be interested in purchasing in other products.

Mermad Lagoon Perfume Oil -

Unfortunately this doesn't have scent notes, but there's some coconut in there and it kind of smells like suntan lotion. I really like that this is packaged in a glass bottle, and the swirly lava lamp-like effect is fun to play with. Note that the info card states that this product can stain clothing, so be careful where you apply this!

Kiss Lip Balm - "Exotic watermelon, juicy pineapple and coconut water, bursting with fresh citrus juices."

This is my first time trying Fortune Cookie Soap's lip balm and I like the formula. It's more glossy than waxy, but it smells ok. Not a combination I would pick on my own, as the pineapple and citrus make it a bit too tart for the other notes. But this balm is cute, it might actually be a size I can get through quickly.

The Boy Who Never Grew Up Salt Scrub - "Tropical margarita served with a salted rim."

This is a new Fortune Cookie Soap product, a salt scrub, and it smells like a margarita! The salt is fairly large, so I wouldn't use this on sensitive areas. But I'm interested in seeing how it compares with their sugar scrub.

Wendy Bird Veggie Protein Deodorant - "Bright, green apple with a balmy, tropical twist."

I just love this little trial sized deodorant, which is also a new product. It's not an anti-perspirant, so it won't prevent sweating, but it will at least make you not smell bad. I really like the apple note combined with whatever else is in there, it gives it a nice tropical feel. I'll probably throw this in my purse for when I forget to put on deodorant before leaving the house.

The Captain Steam Me Up Scotty - "Dewy magnolias and wild berries drenched with fresh cream."

I really love Fortune Cookie Soap's combinations of fruit and florals, they are usually some of my favorite scents. This might be my overall favorite scent of this box, it smells sweet and fruity with a bit of floral. And I always love getting a shower steamer because I go through them so quickly, they are one of my favorite Fortune Cookie Soap products.

Overall, I enjoyed this box, there was nothing I really disliked, and it's nice trying new kinds of products. I think my favorites are Lost Boys and The Captain. I like everything, but the others just didn't grab me the way those two did. This box did lean very fruity though, so if you're not into that, this won't be the collection for you. That's usually the way it goes though, summer is fruity, fall is traditional fall scents like pumpkin, winter is traditional pine and other winter scents, and spring is for florals. I like all of these scent categories, so I don't mind getting the box year round, but for others you may want to just stick with the seasons that are more for you. I also wouldn't mind if some of the items that we always get were switched out occasionally, like the fortune cookie soap, hand sanitizer, or whipped cream, since I have tons of them and just don't go through them as quickly as I'd like. But maybe I can try to make it my goal to use them before the next box arrives!

Customer Service - I did not have to contact customer service regarding any problems with my Soap Box.

Availability - All of these scents in various products will be available after the Summer Launch Party which starts at 6 PM CST on May 22nd! The Summer Soap Box is sold out, but you can sign up for the Fall box here.

Overall Satisfaction - My favorite scents were Lost Boys and The Captain, and I'm interested in possibly getting a few things from the Summer Launch Party. Probably more shower steamers, and maybe some wax tarts, but I haven't quite decided!
