Indie Weekends: Notoriously Morbid Glass Lip Tints and Literary Love Coffin Kissers Review

I've always been a fan of the Notoriously Morbid lip balms, and when some new flavors came out a while back, I jumped at the chance to get them and complete my Glass Lip Tint collection with the new blood orange one. I've finally had a chance to review and swatch the lip tints for you!

AboutNotoriously Morbid is an indie cosmetics company owned by Carrie, and they specialize in fandom collections, with eyeshadows, lip products and lip balms, blushes, and they also have a subscription called the Vanishing Cabinet. The fandom inspired collections they currently have include, Supernatural, Twin Peaks, Buffy, Doctor Who, and various others.

Shipping - It's been so long since I ordered that I'm not sure on how long the shipping took for these. I do remember it was back when they still had a pretty high turnaround time.

Product Size - All of these lip products are only available in full size.

Free Samples - I don't remember exactly what I received as my free samples with these orders, but usually I get two eyeshadow samples.

Glass Lip Tints:

I have quite the mish-mash of products, one is the old oval tubes, and one is the new label. The other three were given to me as gifts.

Glass Apples - "Red with a Macintosh Apple scent."

This one is one of my favorites for when you want a kiss of a red tint to your lips. And I love the apple scent.

Glass Berries - "Dark purple with a Mixed Berries scent."

I love this one for the winter when you want a darker lip shade, but don't want the fuss of a full berry lipstick. It does tend to sink into lip lines, so be sure to exfoliate well before wearing this.

Glass Blood Oranges - "Orange with an Orange Tangerine scent."

This one is the new color and I ordered from the very first batch of these, and it's a bit more pigmented than the old ones were. I don't know if all of them have since changed formulas, but this one took the least amount of swipes to get to tint. When I originally got this, I wasn't a fan of how pigmented it was, because I was so used to swiping a ton to get them to show up. But it's actually perfect, and I love the slight orangey pink shade.

Glass Peaches - "Pale orange with a Peach scent."

I love wearing this one when I'm going with a subtle peachy look for the rest of my face. And I can't argue with the delicious peach scent. It is the least pigmented though, so this is basically my lip color with a bit of gloss over it.

Glass Strawberries - "Pale pink with a Strawberry scent."

This one is also not super pigmented, so I don't wear this one that much. But it's great for when you need a lip balm, and maybe also want a touch of color.

I have to say something about the labels...I don't like them. I don't know why they don't all match, and why they look like they were printed on a printer from 15 years ago. I have all of these with the exception of the grape one, because I don't care for grape flavors.

This smells more like fresh bananas to me than banana pudding, but it’s nice. It’s got a bit of that fake banana candy kind of scent to it though, so if you hate that, this one isn’t for you.

I expected this one to be more tart and citrusy, but instead it kind of smells like a pastry or tart. It does have a hint of the limoncello scent in the background though.

This has a really light marshmallow scent, is definitely a good one for anyone obsessed with marshmallows.

This one is definitely my favorite, it reminds me of pistachio ice cream or gelato, which I try to get on every occasion if I can.

This one smells really fruity, with a bit of tang to it. Will be good for the summer.

Overall, I am growing to love my Glass Lip Tints even more after swatching them. I was just wearing them and going out and about, but never really had a chance to really see what the colors looked like until now! I love the new Blood Orange one, so I suggest picking up that one and Glass Apples, those are my two favorites. I loved the Berry one, but it's too high maintenance because it shows your lip lines too much, and mine has since turned a bit grainy. Apple and Blood Orange will be perfect for spring. And out of the Literary Love Coffin Kissers my favorite is Poe's Pistachio Cream, which was really no surprise, it was the main one I wanted to get when I ordered. There are tons of other Coffin Kisser flavors, so check them out if these aren't calling to you, because the formula itself is quite nice.

Customer Service - I did not have to contact customer service regarding any problems with my order.

Availability - All of these products are permanent.

Overall Satisfaction - My favorites were Glass Apples, Glass Blood Oranges, and Poe's Pistachio Cream. Sometimes it's nice to just wear a slight lip tint or a yummy lip balm, especially for spring, so check those out!
