Birchbox April 2014 #1 Review

I have three Birchbox subscriptions, and this is the review for my first box, which is on my main account.

This Birchbox arrived in 17 days, from Tennessee to California, which at that point is really just unacceptable. I don't understand why all three of my boxes shipped the same day, and all arrived on different days. Especially this one being so ridiculously late. Birchbox just moved their warehouse to Tennessee from New Jersey I believe, and somehow it caused some shipping troubles this month. I think pretty much everyone's box was shipped out of Tennessee, back to New Jersey, then out to everyone. It took a lot longer for me to get my boxes this month because of this. Hopefully this gets resolved for next month.

I received box #29:

This month's theme was "Rainy Days".

The info card with all of my items from this month.

The first look at my box, and let's be real, I knew what I was getting in this box. I can never not peek, so this wasn't a surprise.

KIND Healthy Grain Bars in - ($0.75) Another Kind Bar, while I do like Kind Bars in general, I didn't love this flavor.

Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo - ($3.75) I heard bad things about both of these products and the smell being bad, and that they didn't really do anything for people. I decided to put them up for swap, and ended up getting 4 packets of the Agave Hair Oil samples which I love for my hair, so I think I got a good swap.

Supergoop! City Sunscreen Serum - ($9) I already have one of these and I've just been using it as sunscreen to keep in my purse for outings. This will be nice to have as a back up.

Color Club Gala's Gems in Breakfast At... - ($3.25) I got this same color in another one of my Birchboxes this month, so I have already set up a swap of this for the gold color.

Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner in Juman - ($5) I had heard that this box came with the black, and I was so disappointed because I already got the black and I really wanted to try this plum color. I was so surprised when I opened this box and found the plum color! It's really pretty and has great staying power when I swatched it.

Overall, this box had a total value of $24.50 plus I get $6 back in points for reviewing my 6 products this month! Not a bad value, but 3 of the items will be swapped. At least I'll be getting other items I will use instead so that's good.

Birchbox is only $10 a month and they send you 5-6 (usually sample size) products. If you really like the sample, they offer the full size version on their shop for you to purchase. If you sign up, use the code SFBB100 to get 100 points with your subscription, equal to $10 off in the Birchbox shop!
