Glamour Doll Eyes August 2014 OTM Review

Glamour Doll Eyes is an Indie pigment company that offers all kinds of beautiful shades of eye, lip, and cheek pigments. They also offer a monthly subscription service, called OTM, or "Of The Month" that includes a limited shadow that's only offered in the OTM. It also includes some extras, usually candy and a few other goodies! I'll include some more details on this at the bottom of this post if you're interested in signing up.

The Glamour Doll Eyes OTM is shipped via USPS, and it arrived in 2 days from Nevada to California.

The subscriptions are always packaged in some type of cute bag, and this month was no different!

The tiny info card is sometimes a little hard to read, but anything bigger would be hard to fit in the envelope these are shipped in.

Cement Heart - "Dark gray base with a green and purple light sheen and multi colored sparkle" I don't have a silver color in my collection and this is so beautiful! I can't wait to use this shade.

Hollywood Affair Blush - "A darken rose/mauve with golden pink shimmers" This blush includes a sifter in the jar, and I already like the shade just from my swatch. I haven't tried the Glamour Doll Eyes blushes yet, (even though I have some!) so maybe this one will be the first I try.

Darling Girl Cosmetics Teal Me Lies - "Medium teal with blue iridescence and a light sprinkling of lavender sparkles" I really like this aqua teal color, it has a sort of silvery iridescence.

Homicide Hydroglaze - "A matte, true red gloss with a buttercream scent" My hydroglaze has some little dots in it, which I suspect are pigment that didn't get blended all the way in? I'm not sure, but this gloss sure does have some staying power! I had some trouble getting the swatch to wash off of my hand! It's a very lovely color and gloss on the lips, and while I hate lip products in clamshell packaging, I will definitely be buying some full size tubes of the Hydroglazes.

Swatches! Left to right, top to bottom: Cement Heart, Hollywood Affair (blended out on the right), Teal Me Lies, and Homicide Hydroglaze

Overall, this month's bag may be my favorite. The main shadow is beautiful, there's also a blush that looks lovely, a bright color from another company which is so great to try, and a lip product that has some serious staying power. Lots of variety, and some items from a future Glamour Doll Eyes collection that we got to try first.

This is the last month of my subscription! I'm going to have to try to get in again in September, which is already marked on my calendar, but I'm not looking forward to trying to snag one.

The Glamour Doll Eyes OTM is a limited subscription you have to act fast if you want in! Every month on the 8th (or the Friday before if the 8th falls on a weekend) they offer up 1, 2, 3, 6, or 12 month subscriptions to sign up for. The price will depend on which subscription you sign up for, but my 3-month was $21, or $7/month.

  1. Great pictures, I am so jealous! Those eye shadow shades look gorgeous! I'm just starting to get into indie makeup companies, and I've got their OTM on my calendar for next month. Crossing my fingers I can get one!
PS: On the the Hydroglaze, do you use a lip brush to apply? Just curious.

    1. You've got to have a good strategy in place to be able to snag the OTM! But yes I did use a lip brush, I will try to add a swatch photo to this post later today.

    2. Thanks!
Oh wow, I didn't realize I needed a strategy for the OTM. I've had to move fast on flash sales before, so I usually sign in ahead of time, and then click furiously when the window opens. That was my plan for this one.

    3. Yep, that's basically it. And use Paypal, it's faster. And then you've got to decide if you want to try and go for the most months you can get, which sell out the fastest, or go for a lower month number that's a little easier to snag. My 3 months are up so I'll be in there trying to get one too next month! Good luck!

  2. Thanks, that sounds good. I was afraid there was a more elaborate plan! Good luck to you, too!
