Memebox Special #32 OMG 2 Review

I got the Memebox Special #32 OMG 2 box bundled with My Cute Wishlist 2, to see how the OMG boxes were in general. I think I got this before we even saw what was in the first OMG box, so I really had no idea what to expect. I was just hoping for some full size products that had some interesting or weird ingredients. There are a few that were weird, and some others that are sort of products we just don't really see here in the US.

I ordered this box in an Express shipped bundle, so it arrived in 4 days (it would have been 2 but there was the weekend), and it was shipped via DHL Express from Korea to California.

Cristallin Cellulose Mask Wrinkle Balance Sheet and Whitening Balance Sheet - (28g x 2 full size/$10)

The description for this says "the jelly-like texture feels like an octopus wrapped around your face". If that's the most OMG thing about these, that's not very exciting. It's actually kind of terrifying, but they are more masks, and I've been wanting to get more masks to try. And these masks are pretty large looking, and there are two. Also they are not $1 masks, so they should be pretty nice.

Ladykin Vanpir Dark Repair Cream - (50ml full size/$50) *Ingredients listed in English*

This doesn't really have anything in it that's OMG, but I do like the play on vampire in the name and the packaging it has. And I've been seriously lacking any anti-wrinkle and anti-aging products in my stash, so this will be great. Plus, I've been really enjoying the other Ladykin product I have been using lately, so I have high hopes for this one as well.

Milky Dress Bohr-effect Carboxy Gel (1 set full size/$24) *Ingredients listed in English*

You're supposed to apply the gel over a cleansed face, then apply the paper mask sheet over that, and then add more of the gel over the paper mask. I assume the paper mask isn't reusable, but I would think there's more gel than just for one use. So I'm not quite sure how that will all work out, but it is interesting. Definitely a little weirder than your average sheet mask.

Priori Aroma AC Moisture Gel Mist - (100ml full size/$24) *Ingredients listed in English*

I actually already received this gel mist in my Coffee Break with Dani box, but it does smell lovely, and gel mists are not quite something you see in the department stores here in the US. It's also enriched with bee venom, so that's the OMG aspect to this product. I've used it on my face, and it's refreshing and especially soothing in the heat of summer.

Seatree Syn-Ake Essence - (45ml full size/$20)

This contains a synthetic compound called Syn-Ake which mimics the effects of snake venom which has been shown to smooth out uneven skin tone, lines, and wrinkles. You would use this after a toner, and I am liking all the anti-aging stuff in this box. Never too early to start an anti-aging skin routine along with your normal skincare products, so I can't wait to start using this. Especially since I have heard a lot about Syn-Ake, but I haven't tried a product containing it yet.

EDIT: It has come to my attention that the expiration date on this product is February 2015. So it has not expired yet, but it will in a few months, so if you received this you should move this up to next in line to be used!

Haruen Dorothy Haruen-S (1 each full size/$26)

This is a really unique product, and while not really OMG, it's definitely very interesting and nothing like anything I've ever seen before. It's basically a volcanic rock in rollerball form, and it absorbs excess grease by rolling it across your skin. You can use it before or after applying your makeup, and there's actually two rollerballs in the container. If you pull apart the bottom, there's another one, and each rollerball can be pulled out to be replaced. There are further directions inside the box, but it gives directions for how to clean it if you get makeup on it. It says that cleaning it with soap and water and then place in the refrigerator and this will actually make it last longer. I don't get too much excess oil on my face because it tends to be dry, but when I wear mineral makeup my face tends to actually get a little shiny, so this might be great to mitigate that.

Overall, the Special #32 OMG 2 box had a total value of $154, and I think it's a great box! Not necessarily the most OMG Korea could offer, but interesting products that are nothing like anything we have in the USA. But I did get my first Memebox product dupe, the Priori Gel Mist was also from the Coffee Break with Dani box, so I'll have to decide if I want to keep that. And I'm excited for the anti-aging products! Like I said, not the craziest ingredients in these products (but the Syn-Ake and bee venom are pretty strange for Western culture, but for Korea that's pretty tame), but some large product sizes, and interesting products that I've never seen before. I know I was definitely saying to myself "OMG" when reading about the volcanic rock rollerball, just because it's so cool! What a great product to travel with, and you don't have to deal with blotting sheets.

  1. These meme boxes are getting verrrry tempting. My friend and I just started a new subscription box/beauty/lifestyle blog so maybe I can rationalize it. "For business." :)
