Memebox Special #35 Moisture Surge Review

Over on makeuptalk.com there is a thread about Memebox box theme suggestions, and I recently suggested they do a box for people with dry skin, and the Special #35 Moisture Surge box was the resulting box! I felt obligated to get it, it was my suggestion after all! It's funny, my dry skin has almost completely gone away since I've been using my Memebox products so regularly, but I still get the occasional dry patch here and there, and I'm sure the dry winter will make it worse. So I'm looking forward to being able to use these as it starts to get cooler!

I had some trouble getting this box, as my mail person left a notice when I was home, and I didn't hear a knock. So it was set to be delivered after 11 days from Korea to California, but then I didn't get to pick it up from the post office until 3 days later. I should really just get some extra slips to fill out and leave for my mail person telling her to just leave it in our locked mail box, like they used to be before they were switched over to Registered Mail. And I usually don't know it's going to be out for delivery until the night before, so it's not much notice to either be home, or make sure to sign a notice.

Insobeau Hiaromax Vitamin Stick - (10g full size/$29)

Ingredients: Not listed in English

Product description: "A quick 1 second swipe of this Hiaromax Vitamin Stick along especially dry areas of your face - eye contours, mouth contour, cheeks - will instantly replenish and moisturize the skin for a brighter and suppler complexion overall! Plus, the rich vitamin and hyaluronic acid formula works to cool, soothe, and even treat enlarged pores."

How to use: "Apply the Hiaromax Vitamin Stick before or after makeup application on dry areas of your face."

My thoughts: It has a very herbal-ly smell to it, and I have heard so many good things about this! I might keep mine in my purse, and use when I get dry patches on my face, which is usually my cheeks, my chin, sometimes my eyebrows (which is weird), and the end of my nose. At the moment, my face has settled into pretty normal for the season and with my new skincare routine, but occasionally it gets oily, and occasionally it gets dry. With winter coming up, I expect more dry patches. This is kind of like a bigger Chapstick, except it's for the dry skin all over, so I can even imagine using this on elbows, feet, hands, etc. I don't know if I would want to put it on my feet and then on my face, but if you were never going to use it on your face, using it as a body balm might be a good idea. I bet it would even work as a cuticle balm.

Wish Formula Premium Ampoule Mask - (1 each full size/$14)

IngredientsWater, Dipropylene glycol, Glycerin, Butylglycerin, Hyluronic Acid, Polyglutamic Acid, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Ethyl Ascorbyl Ether, rh-Oligopeptide-1, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, sh-Octapeptide-4, sh-Decapeptide-7, sh-Pentapeptide-19, Oligopeptide-29, Lactobacillus/Olive Leaf Ferment Extract, Saccharomyces/Peppermint Leaf Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus/Clover Flower Ferment Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Allantoin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Jucie Powder, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Adenosine, Chlorphenesin, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamont) Fruit Oil, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate20

Product description: "This miracle Premium Ampoule Mask improves the skin's natural recovery power while it also works to combat wrinkles and deeply nourishes the skin, leaving it moist, supple, and radiant."

How to use: "Place the mask sheet evenly over your face. Rest for 15-20 minutes, remove, and pat in the remaining essence for full absorbance."

My thoughts: There are a lot of masks that are advertised to do the same things, so I don't know what this particular one has over others that are meant for moisturizing, but at least it's not a cheap mask. I am starting to accumulate a fairly large mask collection, so I need to start using them!

Original Raw Deluxe Kit Ver. 3 (30ml x 3 each full size/$60)

Black Bubble -

Ingredients: Not listed in English

Product description: "Made from all naturally derived cleansing complex, the Black Bubble boosts its auto-bubble system which works when the oxygen trasnmitter from its formula meets the air and automatically transforms into fine, minute bubbles for cleansing deep into and throughout your face."

How to use: "Take a dime-size amount of the Black Bubble and spread it evenly over your face. Wait for 5 seconds until it starts to create bubbles. Then, gently massage it onto your face and rinse off with warm water."

My thoughts: This sounds fun to use, a bubbling cleanser. These tubes look like deluxe sizes packaged in a kit, I don't know if they are really full size products, or if you can buy them separately in a larger size. But as they are meant to all be used together, I would expect not.

Chan-mool Patting Essence -

Ingredients: Not listed in English

Product description: "Tangly and jelly-like textured, this Chan-mool Patting Essence relieves, moisturizes, brightens, and tightens up the skin all in one, by creating a protective moisture barrier."

How to use: "Apply the essence in the place of a toner and pat in a generous amount onto the skin."

My thoughts: I seem to get a lot of products in these boxes that are meant to be used in place of a toner, but are not actually toners. It's strange considering toners are probably the least represented kind of products in Memeboxes. I have heard great things about this product though, so I am really looking forward to it.

Water Block Jam -

Ingredients: Not listed in English

Product description: "The black component extracted from plants and the super hyaluronic acid combine together to create a moisture wall over your skin. A single application will last you up to 48 hours without any further re-hydration."

How to use: "After Patting Essence application, take a small amount of the Black Jam and spread it evenly over your face. It can also be used as an overnight pack when applied thickly."

My thoughts: I'm currently using a product that can be used as two different products, one of those being an overnight pack, which I like using. I may have to break this out of my stash as soon as I finish the other one. And I think this will be perfect for the really dry winters we have here.

Rosemoon Rich 53% Collagen Smart Balm - (50ml full size/$47)

Ingredients: Hydrolyzed Collagen, Diglycerin, Macada mia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Butylene Glycol, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Beeswax, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Hippopha Rhamnoides Water, Microcrystalline Wax, rh-Oligopeptide-1, Laminaria Digitata Extract, Carbomer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Allium Sativum (Garlic) Bulb Extract, Disodium Adenosine Triphosphate, Adenosine, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Steryl Glycyrrhetinate, Honey, Royal jelly extract, Propolis Extract, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, 1,3-Propanediol, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Triethanolamine, Disodium EDT A, Fragrance, Cl 19140, Cl 15985

Product description: "This Collagen Smart Balm is a nourishing facial cream for deeply hydrating the skin and strengthening the skin's innate strength and function. Experience super soft, moist, and well-protected skin the next morning with this collagen-rich formula!"

How to use: "At the very last stage of your skincare routine, spread the Collagen Smart Balm evenly over your face and pat it in for full absorbance."

My thoughts: Currently, I'm not using a really thick cream for the last stage of my skincare routine, just because my skin isn't as dry at the moment, but I think this will be perfect for when it does start to get drier.

Imface Vio-Xellose Neck Patch - (10ml full size/$5)

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Mineral Oil, PEG/PPG 17/6 Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Triethanolamine, Acrylate/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Juglans Regia (Walnut) Seed Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Asparagus Officinalis Extract, Pinus Koraiensis Seed Extract, Erythritol, Trehalose, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Dimethicone, Citrus Lemon (Lemon) Fruit Oil, Citrus Aurantium Sinesis (Orange) Fiber, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Fruit, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Lavandula Angustofolia (Lavender) Oil, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Squalane, Sodium Hyaluronate

Product description: "Naturally-derived coconut jelly texture, imface's special Botanical Wrinkle Complex extracts and adenosine complex all work to treat signs of aging along your neckline. This product is free of paraben, benzophenone, sulfate, artificial pigment, and artificial fragrance."

How to use: "Wash and cleanse the neck first. Spread the neck patch evenly over your neck and rest for 20-30 minutes. Peel away the patch and massage in the remaining essence to maximize its effect."

My thoughts: This is probably the weirdest item in this box, it's not really supposed to target dryness, and a neck patch? I can understand it's for anti-aging, but it just doesn't fit the theme for this box. I'm sure I'll use it eventually, but it just seems out of place for this box.

Dermahouse Aloe Vera Moisture Mist - (120ml full size/$14)

Ingredients: Not listed in English

Product description: "It's a moisture splurge for all those super dry and sensitive skin out there! Whether your face is overheated from excessive exposure to sun or dry and irritated from an exhausting day, Dermahouse's Aloe Vera Mist delivers an instant replenishing and soothing effect with just a single spritz! Experience softer, healthier, and more radiant skin."

How to use: "Spray the mist evenly over your face whenever and wherever necessary."

My thoughts: Mists seem very prevalent in Korean skincare, I have quite a few in my stash, but since this one is specifically to target dry skin, I'm looking forward to it! I'm thinking my entire skincare routine I currently use will probably run out right around the time I will need some different products, so hopefully that timing all works out, and I can start using these products immediately!

Overall, the Moisture Surge box had a total value of $169, which is a new record value for me! I think it was very surprising to see the Original Raw set as the spoiler and with such a  high value. I'm pretty happy with this box with the exception of the neck patch which is such a strange item for it, but the rest I'm really looking forward to.

  1. Whoa, a neck mask? I actually think it sounds kind of interesting. Something fun to try at least once. I wonder if Memeshipping is different for different areas? I was expecting to have to pick up my last box at the post office but last week USPS just stuck it in my mailbox like usual. ...unless we just didn't get the memo yet. Haha.

    1. You're supposed to have to sign for it since they switched to Registered Mail. So annoying in my opinion, and they take much longer to arrive.
