Indie Subscription: Hello Waffle February 2015 Visage Review

Please forgive my lack of an indie review yesterday, I had two things I wanted to review this weekend not arrive before I left for B's for the week. Well, one arrived, but missing a few things I ordered, so that happened...and then no time to come up with a Plan B. Anyways, my February Hello Waffle Visage arrived on time, and with everything in it, so yay! And in the crunch time to get this photographed and get out the door, I did not have time to do an unboxing video, but I was able to do my usual look. I saw the spoilers for this month and I was so excited just about the extras! This was a great month to be subscribed to the Visage.

AboutHello Waffle is an indie cosmetics company specializing in beautiful eyeshadow collections, blushes, made by Christine, the owner. Hello Waffle is based in Canada, and currently has collections inspired by Archer, Fringe, famous musical composers, cats/literature, and a collection celebrating reaching 1000 Facebook likes. She also offers seasonal fairytale inspired collections that can be purchased in the season they are inspired by.

Shipping - My box shipped on the 5th, and arrived 4 days later from Canada to California via USPS. Awesome shipping time this month!

Product Size - The Hello Waffle shadows this month were mini jars, and the rest of the products were full size.

Free Samples - There were no free samples included this month.

All eyeshadow swatches are done over Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer. The blush swatch is done over bare skin and blended out.

Here's the box this month, so cute for Valentine's Day!

And the info card!

100 Year Sleep - ($3.25) "Deep eggplant purple with pink and purple sparks."

This shade is a dark royal purple shade with a metallic looking sheen. I used it in the inner and outer corners as well as the crease for my look. I also foiled a bit of it to use as a bottom lash liner.

Fifteen($3.25) "Shimmery mauve-rose with purple sparks."

This is a pretty rosy pink shade, and I foiled it and used it in the middle of my lid for my look.

Thorn Hedge($3.25) "Shimmery dark gray with pink and purple sparks."

This shade was more of a silvery gray color rather than dark gray, but it was a little sheer. I used it as the transition shade above the crease in my look.

Wise Woman - ($8.50) "Brick strawberry with a subtle but evil blue glow."

This gloss is a warm reddish orange-y shade that can be applied heavily for a more glossy look, or lightly for more of a stain. It paired well with the shadows this month, but I don't think it would look good with every sort of color.

Blackbird Cosmetics Briar Rose - ($12) "Muted light pink with subtle gold sheen." *Note: The info card calls this Little Briar Rose, but the product label says Briar Rose*

This is the perfect blush if you have a hard time applying the tiniest amount so it's not too dark, you can actually apply quite a bit of this or just a little for a more subtle look. And it's just the smoothest matte indie blush formula I've tried, I cannot wait for Blackbird to actually start making blushes!

Sixteen92 Talia - ($13) "Vanilla, soft musk, moss, fern, and stone."

Oh I love this perfume! I actually have not had very many Sixteen92 perfumes agree with me, most have just not worked on my skin. But this one smells musky, and like moss and stone, and a hint of vanilla. I hope more perfumes like this come out from Sixteen92, so I can finally find ones I like! This one is just lovely, I can't believe we got a full size of this for the box!

Excuse the lighting, I wore this look for Valentine's Day dinner over at B's house. But I attempted a halo eye effect with the product's this month!

You can see 100 Year Sleep foiled as the bottom lash liner much better in this photo. Also Hello Waffle Animate Chess-piece as the inner corner highlight.

For the look I used:
  • Face -
    • Miguhara BP Cream
    • Clinique Superbalanced Foundation in shade Breeze
  • Lips -
    • Hello Waffle Wise Woman
  • Cheeks -
    • Blackbird Cosmetics Briar Rose
  • Eyes -
    • theBalm Put A Lid On It primer

Overall, this month's Hello Waffle Visage had a total value of $43.25, and I absolutely loved this month's box. It was a great look for Valentine's Day, and I actually may be more in love with the full size bonus products this month. The perfume is just lovely, and the blush is a stunning subtle light pink shade. I like Hello Waffle's lip products, but this shade is pretty warm leaning, so it may not work for all look's or skintones. My favorites this month were definitely Sixteen92 Talia and Blackbird Cosmetics Briar Rose. I did think the shades of shadows this month were quite similar to last month's shadows, so I hope next month we get something completely different.

Customer Service - I did not have to contact customer service regarding any problems with my subscription.

Availability - The Hello Waffle products will be available for a separate purchase on the 15th of this month through the end of the month. After that they will be gone forever.

Overall Satisfaction - My favorites were Talia and Briar Rose, the bonus products. I absolutely love this indie subscription, it may be winning for my favorite one I subscribe to.

  1. Your halo look came out great, I love it! (Mine has been a fail so far, still working on it!) And I love the lipgloss on you, it's a dramatic color, but really pretty.

I also agree with your opinion on Thalia. Though, I like most sixteen92 perfumes in concept, they kinda morph on my skin. However, Thalia was really pleasant, sweet, green and had fairly good longevity on me. I'm pretty excited we got a full size of it.

Looking forward to another of your videos! I know they're probably a lot of work, but they're fun to watch!
