Swaagbox April 2015 Review

Swaagbox sends out time of the month boxes, called Tomboxes, that include your necessary time of the month supplies, makeup, and jewelry. You pick the tampon/pad brand and type, select your skin type and style type, and then you can also opt to double the makeup and jewelry each month or add on razor cartridges as well. Swaagbox kindly sent me this month's box for review.

Swaagbox packaged the beauty products a little differently this time around, they are inside these cute colorful boxes that say "Beautiful." on the side. I like that, and it's much nicer than having them just rattle around inside the big box everything comes in.

I mentioned it in my last Swaagbox review, and I'll say it again, it's really nice getting a whole box of tampons/pads instead of just a few in a bag like I've seen with other time of the month subscription boxes.

Skin & Co Truffle Body Milk - ($8.33)

This lotion has a very nice subtle fragrance to it, which smells like coconut to me. And this is a very generous 2 oz sample size, and is a high valued sample. I've tried products from Skin & Co before, and they are high quality and have worked for me in the past. I was quite surprised to see a higher end brand in this box, after my first box which had all drugstore beauty products.

Philip B Lovin' Leave-In Conditioner - ($2)

This is another higher end brand, but a nice sample size for travel or just to try. There are directions on the back, and the product itself smells lovely. My hair can always use some extra moisture, so I'm looking forward to trying this product.

Cailyn Just Mineral Eye Polish in Champagne - ($15)

I've never really cared for this brand because I think their products are way overpriced and are just drugstore quality at best. This "Eye Polish" is basically just eyeshadow in a fancy package. Something you could easily get from other brands, including indie cosmetic brands. I probably won't keep this.

Common Goat Sense Homemade Goat Milk Soap - (~$1)

How awesome is this, a product from an Etsy brand! I love indie brands on Etsy, and this soap smells so good! I would love to try this, but I actually have a friend who will enjoy this even more, so I will pass on to him. I hope Swaagbox partners with other indie brands in the future, because that was an exciting surprise to see in the box.

Nügg Face Mask Soothing Shea Butter & Chamomile Extract - ($3.29)

I have been wanting to try this brand for so long, but never got a chance to until now! I'm excited, I love face masks, and these have been so highly reviewed. And I think there will be plenty of product in here for multiple uses.

J. Cat Beauty Roll It Up Auto Lip Liner - ($3)

I received this shade in Amaranth Pink, and while I don't use lip liner, this is a nice neutral pink color. I have a lipstick or two that this will work with perfectly I think.

The jewelry this month I think is much classier and pretty than the last time I received this box. And I love the little silver charms on each of these, very cute. I can actually see myself wearing these.

Overall, I enjoyed this month's Swaagbox much more than the first month I received it. I'm not sure on the value for the bracelets, but this box had a great value, and so many things I would actually use. And I just love the inclusion of the Etsy brand, that and getting to finally try a Nügg mask are probably my favorite things in this box. I like the move more towards a drugstore to higher end brand for the cosmetics, I hope that trend continues as I think it makes this a more appealing subscription. And that there was a large variety of kinds of products was also a bonus.

Swaagbox is $16/month, and you can choose your tampon/pad, skin, and style types. You'll receive your box every month, timed to your monthly cycle, and you can cancel anytime. Try your first box for only $8 by clicking here!
