Indie Subscription: Glamour Doll Eyes May 2015 OTM Review

May's Glamour Doll Eyes OTM has always been a bit extra special, because it's Vanessa's birthday month! She likes to spoil us for her birthday, how awesome is that? I couldn't wait to get mine after seeing the spoilers, especially all the great looking extras we got!

AboutGlamour Doll Eyes is an indie cosmetics company specializing in eyeshadow, blush, lip glazes, gel eyeliner, and will be soon venturing into pressed shadows. Vanessa, the owner, is based in Nevada, and has been doing a monthly subscription for three years.

The theme this month was Tattoo, and we received an angel wings charm, as well as some Sour Patch Kids candy this month along with everything else.

Shipping - I'm not quite sure how the shipping went for mine this month because it never got scanned in Nevada, it just showed up in my state and was delivered. USPS you sure are lovable!

Product Size - The Glamour Doll Eyes eyeshadows are always full size every month, and we also received a full size lip product from Native War Paints, a sample perfume balm from Black Violet, and a full size Shimmer Me also from Glamour Doll Eyes.

Free SamplesThere are usually free bonus samples included with this subscription, but it's not guaranteed every month.

All eyeshadow and Shimmer Me swatches are done over Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer.

TMI (Try More Indie)Spectrum Cosmetics - Use code SCTMI15 for 15% off your purchase (Expires June 30th).

I vaguely remember getting a product from this company in another indie subscription last year, and not liking it. So I'm not sure if I'll be using the special discount code for subscribers, but it's cool that we also got a discount code to share.

No Regerts - "A deep purple with a blue green duochrome and small spurts of pink purple sparkle."

I don't think I'd call this a deep purple, it's more of a lavender. That duochrome though! I love this shade, it will make a perfect all over lid shade for a one shadow look, or paired with a darker blue, green, purple, or even pink.

Apprentice - "A pinky orange with a soft green shimmer and holographic sparkle."

If you blend out this shadow it's more orange, so I bet this would make a good transition shade for some looks. It does look a bit more reddish orange to me, but it does have a nice green sheen to it.

Native War Paints Midnight Mistakes - "A pink purple color with a flash of blue shimmer, and is Grand Marnier and apricot scented."

I would call this shade straight up violet, I tried to get it as opaque as I could for my swatch. You can see it isn't quite perfectly opaque, but it has a nice dark color. I'm not sure how I feel about the formula yet, but the scent is interesting!

Black Violet Black and Grey Perfume Balm - "Leather laced boots, bubblegum, pink peppercorn, and metallic vibrations."

In the container, this mostly smells of bubblegum, but once it's on the skin I was getting leather with a bit of bubblegum in the background. It's very similar to Ringmaster from Black Violet if you've ever tried that. I like it. In the container I wasn't so sure, but once I put it on it was much more complex. And while I do love my perfume oils, sometimes there's just an ease and convenience to solid perfumes.

Bernie Shimmer Me - "A purple glitter and sheen."

Shimmer Mes are gel glitters that you can use in a variety of ways to enhance your eye looks. This one is named after Bernadette from Big Bang Theory, and has a slight pinky purple sheen. They can be used as a base for your eyeshadow, as a brow highlight, over the top of your eyeshadow, or even as a cheek highlight. You only need a tiny bit!

Overall, this month's OTM had a total value of $29.50 and I love the two main shadows and the perfume we got this month. I haven't really used the other Shimmer Mes I have, so now that I have a few I need to play with them and find the best use for me. And the lipstick was a fun shade, it was nice to be able to try something from a new brand for me!

Customer Service - I did not have to contact customer service regarding any problems with my subscription.

Availability - The main eyeshadow(s) each month go up for sale separately on the 10th at noon PST if you're interested in buying it, but the OTM subscription itself is on a waitlist.

Overall Satisfaction - My favorite was definitely No Regerts, such a beautiful duochome shadow.
