Indies of the Week: Solstice Scents Burnishing Glace Review

Solstice Scents recently brought out a few of their Burnishing Glaces in some of the spring scents, so I took the opportunity to grab a couple to try out! I just barely missed out on Chantilly Cream, but I managed to snag Chiffon and Manor. Burnishing Glaces are basically like a glossing oil, you can use them as a spray all over your legs after shaving, or as a bath oil.

AboutSolstice Scents is an indie bath and body and perfumery, that sells perfumes, whipped soap, body ganache creams, bath soaks, and their burnishing glace sprays, which are kind of like body mists or can be used as bath oils. They are based out of Florida, and offer a main collection scent line, as well as seasonal collections that can mostly be ordered all year in sample form.

Product Size - Burnishing Glaces only come in one size, it's a 4.5 oz spray bottle.

Chiffon Burnishing Glace - "Vanilla, White Amber, White Musk & Lemon Myrtle EO."

I liked this scent from the spring perfumes, and it smells just as good in the glace formula. But also just like the perfume, the scent doesn't last long. I found it disappeared within 15 minutes or so. The scent is not long lasting, but at least it moisturizes well. I like to use this one when I want my perfume to be the main scent I have on, and not my body oil. I usually use about four spritzes on each leg after I get out of the shower, and then rub in.

Manor Burnishing Glace - "Woody-Vanilla Musk, Vanilla Accord, Glorious Black Agarwood & Exquisite Aloeswood."

Manor is a darker vanilla scent, that kind of reminds me of vanilla pudding. It's kind of woodsy, and kind of heavy. I will say this one is very strong on, and lasts the entire day. You may want to use less of this one if you don't wish to smell heavily of perfume basically. This might be a nice one for in hair, because you will only need a little bit on the ends, and I bet it would be a nice amount of scent for the day.

Availability - These are currently sold out, but occasionally return throughout the year.

Recommendation - If you can get your hands on one of these Burnishing Glaces, I'd say they are great quality body oils. Especially if you really love the scent it's in already. But I will say there are other brands that make great body oils as well, so don't feel like you missed out if you didn't get any of these.

  1. I love reading about all the summer scents, but I feel like it's already time to start saving up for the autumn collections, when I want to buy eeeeeeeeeeeeverything.
