Julep Maven December 2013 Boho Glam Box Review and Promo Code

I had accumulated quite a few Jules from Julep Maven and decided to get one of the past boxes I missed out on. I'm trying to collect the colors for a galaxy nail art, so I went with the December 2013 Boho Glam box, which has a nice glitter polish I hope to use as the top star coat of the galaxy nail. It didn't hurt that it also came with the Sweep Eyeshadow Palette, because I totally need more eyeshadow *smirk*. I also had a code for a 50% off nail color, but when I went to check it with an item already on sale, it ended up being free as well! So I grabbed Catherine before they had a chance to fix this bug!

Here was everything in my box! I was glad that even though I was ordering this box way after it originally shipped out to Mavens, I still got the extra hairbands! I was disappointed they sent me an expired coupon though. I assume they probably just had the boxes pre packed with the coupon in it, and just send them out for new orders so I understand.

These colors were from the Glitterati collection.

The eyeshadow palette as color correct as I can get it, after the sunset, and under a very yellow light.

Here's what I received along with original value:

Misti - ($14) This color is really pretty in person, even my mom who only likes corals, and pinks said she thought it was pretty.

Joelle - ($14) I'm hoping to use this as a top star coat in a galaxy nail art attempt. This seems like a full coverage glitter, so maybe I'll see if I can do a light top coat. The galaxy nail tutorial I hope to follow is here.

Sweep Eyeshadow Palette: Neutral - ($24) This palette is really cute and small, perfect for travel. The colors are just the kinds of colors I use normally, so it's perfect for me.

Catherine - ($14) I can't believe I didn't have a good red color in my collection already, but like I've said in other posts, before I started subscribing to Julep Maven I really didn't have any nail polish. What I do have is really old and should probably just go in the trash. So this color will be great! And this is the perfect red.

Since I cashed in some of my Jules points for this box, it didn't end up costing me anything, so I'd say it had a pretty good value! And with that coupon that gave me another free color, I'd say I got a downright steal!

Updated 4/21: New Julep Mavens can customize their box as much (or as little) as they like. Sign up for 1 month and pay $24.99/month, or sign up for 3 months and pay only $19.99/month! Take the style quiz and enter FREEBOX at checkout to get your first box free, just pay $2.99 for shipping!
