Glamour Doll Eyes June 2014 OTM Review

Glamour Doll Eyes is an Indie pigment company that offers all kinds of beautiful shades of eye, lip, and cheek pigments. They also offer a monthly subscription service, called OTM, or "Of The Month" that includes a limited shadow that's only offered in the OTM. It also includes some extras, usually candy and a few other goodies! I'll include some more details on this at the bottom of this post if you're interested in signing up.

The Glamour Doll Eyes OTM is shipped via USPS, and it arrived in 3 days from Nevada to California.

This was everything included in June's Glamour Doll Eyes OTM, one Glamour Doll Eyes shadow, a bonus shadow from Innocent Twisted Alchemy, a mini box of Hot Tamales, and a Glamour Doll Eyes pouch! I loved the Hot Tamales, I wanted to eat them before I took photos, but I restrained myself!

The info card has all the color info, ingredients, and other information pertaining to this month's OTM.

One thing that's great about these pigments is they can be used in many different ways and each one tells you if it's eye or lip safe. And you can even use them to make your own product as well, as they can be added to a nail polish base to make your own color. Pigments have the advantage of being so versatile.

Prime Suspect - ($6) A hot pink with a purple blue sheen, and is safe for use on lips, eyes, face, and nails. It's supposed to be a red base, but it looks and swatches hot pink. I like this shade, and I'm glad I waited to buy some other Glamour Doll Eyes shades, since I was looking at some colors very similar to this one. The plan will probably be to get a few shades from most of the color options, a few blues, a few greens, etc.

Candied Violet - This is almost the opposite of Prime Suspect, as it's a deep blue-violet with a red sheen and copper shimmers. It is not lip safe, but safe for eyes, face, and nails. Innocent Twisted Alchemy is the featured company for June, as there are usually bonus extras each month. Their Storenvy is currently undergoing maintenance which seems like a bad idea to do right after your stuff was sent out to people. I wish I could have checked it out in time for this review, but I'll keep checking back.

Swatches! (Two swipes, over primer) It's difficult to capture the sheen and subtle nuances of the pigments, but you can kind of see the sheen in Prime Suspect, but with Candied Violet it's more difficult, and I would say more matte.

Overall, I really like Glamour Doll Eyes' subscription, and I got a 3-month so I will still have it for the next 2 months at the very least. I loved the little bonuses they sent, and while I'm still a little intimidated by loose pigments and the bright colors, I think I will do my best to try and work them into a totally wearable look! I also just need to bite the bullet and go in and pick out a bunch of their shades to buy and try myself. Maybe even get really adventurous and press them into palettes! Crazy talk!

The
Glamour Doll Eyes OTM is a limited subscription you have to act fast if you want in! Every month on the 8th (or the Friday before if the 8th falls on a weekend) they offer up 1, 2, 3, 6, or 12 month subscriptions to sign up for. The price will depend on which subscription you sign up for, but my 3-month was $21, or $7/month.
