Indie Thanksgiving Week: Savor Autumn Collection Review

Happy Thanksgiving! Savor will be having a Small Business Saturday sale (November 29th), details unannounced, but I wanted to review the Autumn Collection for you! Again, my indie Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale cheatsheet is here. In my quest to try all the indie whipped soaps I can, I ordered a bunch from the Autumn Collection so I have something in every scent to review. I am pretty sure the Winter collection will be released on Saturday, so keep a look out for that and the sale!

Savor is an indie bath and body company located in California, and owned by Lisa. Savor stocks whipped soap, handmade soap, body mist, lip butters, body butter, and body scrubs.

Shipping - My order shipped 7 days after I ordered and arrived in 2 days via USPS within California. The stated turnaround time is 3-4 business days, so if you're looking for some bath and body holiday gifts, Savor is a good choice to get the items quickly.

Product Size - Mini whipped soaps are in 2 oz jars, and there are also 4 oz and 8 oz full size jars. The shaving soap is offered in a 3 oz size, and soap bars are 4 oz.

Free Samples - I received a free sample soap bar in the one Autumn scent I did not order. I thought that was awesome of Lisa to do, since I didn't order the scent because I didn't think I would like it.

All the jars were wrapped in tissue paper, and then shrink wrapped. Very nicely presented and wrapped, and nothing leaked.

Cafe Vanilla Creme Fraiche Whipped Soap - "Rich, strong-brewed coffee together with a decadent and complex vanilla."

This smells really yummy, definitely a bold coffee scent with an exotic vanilla blended in. I think it's a really nice touch that there's actual vanilla on the top of this soap, and the layered color effect in the jar. It just feels like a good quality handmade product.

Here is the texture of the whipped soaps, and the crushed vanilla that's on top of the Cafe Vanilla scent. The texture is very much like buttercream frosting,

Hot Coffee Creme Fraiche Whipped Soap - "Fresh brewed, strong, bold coffee base, with hints of chocolate, vanilla, and nut."

This one reminds me of the coffee I make for myself almost every morning. Definitely a nuttier take on coffee with vanilla, cream, and chocolate. Just perfect, if you want a really good and not artificial coffee soap, this is it!

Kraken Creme Fraiche Whipped Soap - "Rum, salty air, exotic spice, orange peel."

This reminds me of something I've smelled before, it's definitely a men's cologne kind of smell. I may actually give this one to B to use, since he doesn't like my girlie smelling soaps.

Poison Apple Creme Fraiche Whipped Soap - "A tantalizing blend of ripe red apple and exotic dragon's blood."

I can't smell much of the dragon's blood on it's own, but the red apple is very strong in this one. It's probably the dragon's blood note that is making this a deeper smelling scent though, so if you like apple scents, this is a great one.

Pumpkin Eggnog Creme Fraiche Whipped Soap - "Creamy and spicy pumpkin pie scent combined with the rich and buttery scent of eggnog spiced with nutmeg."

This one is really spicy! I can really only smell the pumpkin spice scent, but this one has different layers as well, so I wonder if you mix it up if it would be more harmonious with the eggnog part.

Pumpkin Marshmallow Creme Fraiche Whipped Soap - "Creamy and earthy pumpkin is blended with toasty vanilla marshmallows, for a great Halloween scent without the usual notes of cinnamon and spice."

Yum, I really like this one, it's not sweet at all. It's definitely like the description says, a very earthy pumpkin scent. It smells like a savory pumpkin dish.

Sweet Pumpkin Creme Fraiche Whipped Soap - "An earthy, creamy pumpkin without the usual spice notes."

This pumpkin scent still has a little spice to it, but it's not the traditional kinds of spices that are added to all pumpkin scents and dishes. But I wouldn't say it's really sweet smelling either, it almost reminds me of a mild guy's scent. This one is very hard to describe, the most mysterious of the bunch.

Wicked Creme Fraiche Whipped Soap - "Notes of brandied fruits, bubbly champagne and mulled cider."

You can smell the bubbly champagne and really sweet smelling fruit and apples. Probably my least favorite of the collection, it's too sweet for my taste. If you like sickly sweet fruity scents, this will probably be your jam.

Winter Grapefruit Shaving Soap - "Crisp, mouthwatering white grapefruit is mixed with a fresh spray of pine, a squeeze of tart lemon, and tart little currants."

Oh this is so yummy, I am so glad I decided to get this at the last minute. The pine and lemon keep this from smelling like a really tart grapefruit, and make it smell refreshing and crisp. I think you're supposed to use this instead of shaving cream, and just rub it on, shave, and rinse. I cannot wait to use this, it's a perfect scent for waking up in the morning, and it's probably my favorite scent of the collection, or at least tied with Hot Coffee.

And here's my free sample soap.

Frosted Pumpkin Spice Sample Soap - "Classic pumpkin pie spice notes blended with sugary vanilla frosting."

This is definitely a very traditional pumpkin pie spice kind of scent, like the milder and more dessert like version of Pumpkin Eggnog.

Overall, I really love Savor's products, and there was a little too much pumpkin in this collection for me, but I really liked the Hot Coffee scent, and loved the Winter Grapefruit scent. I wish that one also came in a regular whipped soap, because I would buy a big jar of it. I can definitely say I'll be buying again, probably on Saturday to get the Winter collection to review. If you're looking for whipped soaps that aren't impossible to get, smell wonderful, and are creamy and rich, definitely check out Savor!

Customer Service - I did not have to contact Lisa about any problems with my order.

Availability - Everything I ordered is currently still available, except the Kraken whipped soap. I think the Winter items will be introduced for the Small Business Saturday sale, so I don't know if the Autumn stuff will be taken down then.

Overall Satisfaction - My favorites were Hot Coffee and Winter Grapefruit. I will definitely be ordering from Savor again.
