Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Review

This is the second palette review out of a few I'm working on for you! We all know and love the Urban Decay Naked palettes, and here's the review of the Naked 2 palette. I bought this one shortly after it came out. Once I found out that Urban Decay did a second Naked palette, and I loved the first one so much, I had to get this one.

This one originally came with a mini lip gloss I believe, I don't think I ever used it and I may have thrown it out because it's been so long since I touched it.

The construction on this as well as the Naked 3 palette is a plastic covering with a latch instead of the magnet like the Naked 1. This one also comes with a brush, but it's double ended and one side is almost the same as on the Naked 1 brush, but the other side is a fluffy blending brush. The mirror takes up the whole top flap which is much nicer than the Naked 1 because you can actually see yourself! It does make the palette top heavy so if you're precariously sitting it on a counter, be careful because it won't sit level. I would feel more comfortable about throwing this one in a bag and not worried about it getting crushed as I might with the Naked 1 palette.

From L to R: Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted, and Blackout.

I have to say I don't use this palette as much as the Naked 1, but it's growing on me. I tend to immediately gravitate towards the rosy, purplish tones (which the Naked 3 is full of, but I just haven't had a chance to buy it yet, but once I do I will review it!), so this one has a few good ones for that shade. I think it's also important to note that some of the shades look a little different when applied than they do in the palette.

I do want to mention that with this palette as well as the Naked 1, I never use primer and the colors are so pigmented and stay on all day. Very high quality product.

Shades shown over primer, 2 swipes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Colors:
Foxy - This is a warm toned beige, or off-white, good as a highlight color. I don't really use it because I find it's too yellow for my pale skin.

Half Baked - Metallic gold, with some fallout. This is the only shade that is also in the Naked 1 Palette.

Bootycall - This one is a very light pink white-ish shade with some sheen. Very similar to Virgin from the Naked 1, but slightly more pigmented.

Chopper - This a slightly more copper version of Half Baked, it does have some fallout but it's very metallic and pigmented.

Tease - This is a matte taupe color, and I like to use it with Verve, or YDK and Busted. It's probably the least pigmented of this palette.

Snakebite - This is a tiny big darker than Smog from the Naked 1, but a little lighter than Darkhorse from the Naked 1 palette as well. It's a dark metallic brown.

Suspect - This is like a warmer toned version of Sidecar from the Naked 1, but less fall out. Very creamy for a metallic sheen.

Pistol - Pistol is a perfect name for this shade, it's a very gunmetal metallic gray, with sleigh fallout. I really like this color, I don't use it enough, it would be great as a smokey eye with Blackout.

Verve - Verve is almost a white gold metallic sheen, very smooth and creamy. I like this color as an all over lid color for a basic look.

YDK - Is a rose metallic gold color, has a little bit of fallout but I really like it paired with Busted in the crease.

Busted - This is a very deep purple with a little bit of a gold sheen to it. Very creamy and smooth, no grittiness to it, which is impressive for such a pigmented shade.

Blackout - This is a true matte black, would be great for a smokey eye look, or used as a smudged liner.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think I do find myself grabbing for my Naked 1 palette a little bit more than the Naked 2, but this one has some great shades, and I think they have a little less fallout overall than the Naked 1. I do like the brown shades in this one a little bit more, but I still go for those pink and purple shades at the end of the palette (which is why it's so crazy I don't have the Naked 3 palette yet!)
