Laneige Products Review

Laneige was recently a featured product in June's Ipsy Bag, and they kindly sent me a few of their products to review for you! Most of the products they sent me are skincare products, which I have been getting more into using lately. I'm trying to get into a good skincare and anti-aging routine now, so that my skin will look as nice as it can for as long as possible.

Let's be real for a second, I'm only 25 so, I don't have wrinkles yet. But every woman I've talked to who is older than me, even only a couple years older, have all said they wished they'd taken care of their skin when they were younger. I see no harm in starting a skincare regime and anti-aging product routine now while my skin is still wrinkle-free!

Birchbox vs. Ipsy Mega Smackdown Review (January - June)

I've been subscribed to Birchbox and Ipsy for about 6 months now so I want to do a mega review for you if you're on the fence about subscribing to either! Over the past couple of months I've had multiple Birchbox subscriptions, so I've only included the one on my main account which is the closest to my true profile.

Each are $10 a month, but the similarities start and stop there. Birchbox is more about sampling higher end products and getting points for reviewing your products each month that can be spent on a huge selection in Birchbox's store. There tend to be more skincare products than makeup most months, but you have to remember you're getting $1 back for every product you review each month. Which can be combined with many discount codes they offer to get any products you'd like for little to no money if you save up your points!

Ipsy usually contains more makeup products but most items received are drugstore brands or samples of mid range brands. You can earn some points for reviewing your products each month and referring friends, but you need 1000 points to redeem them for a product that's in the points page. There are usually only 3 there at a time, and they don't replace anything until one has sold out, and even then it can take several weeks for them to replace it. You do also get a new designed bag each month that your products come in, some are better than others.

In terms of shipping, both are delivered USPS, but Ipsy is shipped DHL Global Mail from North Carolina, and Birchbox is shipped Newgistics from Tennessee usually. Most of the time my Ipsy arrives first, but most of the time that's just because Ipsy is shipped first, usually they take about the same amount of time to arrive to California.

Glossybox + Bergdorf Goodman May 2014 x4 Mega Review

My four, yes four May Glossyboxes finally arrived which were collaboration boxes with Bergdorf Goodman! I felt like a dope because I had never heard of Bergdorf Goodman before this, maybe it was mentioned in Gossip Girl and I just don't remember, but oh man did I go a little crazy on the boxes! When I found out that once you're subscribed you can gift boxes to yourself for only $15 each, and the $25 Bergdorf Goodman gift card that's in each of these could stack! Plus each box had a crazy retail value, and it was a chance for me to try some high end brands and products that I probably never would have purchased on my own.

It's safe to say I had some issues with Glossybox shipping this month. I originally ordered five boxes, my actual subscription that I paid for a month ago couldn't be shipped because they sold out. How that happens when I ordered it on May 15th is beyond me, and why it wasn't shipped earlier is also beyond me, so I was pretty ticked about that. They did refund me for it and send me the gift card code. Then these took forever to arrive, and when they did I was missing a sample from one. It wasn't a good logistics month for Glossybox and I think the problems outweighed the awesome value of this box.

I paired down my Birchbox subscriptions back to just one this month, but then already caved and bought another, and I may reopen my third account too!

Birchbox is shipped via Newgistics and delivered USPS. This month's box arrived in 6 days from Tennessee to California.

Ipsy Glam Bag June 2014 Review

June's Ipsy Glam Bag is here! If you've been reading this blog for a few months, you know that I've been less than satisfied with my last few months. I will say that I am much happier with this month, and what I got in my bag!

Ipsy Glam Bag's are shipped via DHL Global and then delivered by USPS. I received mine in 6 days from North Carolina to California. They have been sending out tracking much later than they used to and I know some people receive theirs before they ever get a tracking code. Mine had already made it to California this month before I got my tracking email.

Birchbox Modern Mermaid Limited Edition Box Review

Birchbox offers limited edition boxes every so often, and this time around it was the Modern Mermaid Limited Edition box! I saw the sneak peak of everything in it, and had to get it! It's so perfect for summer!

Birchbox and Ipsy Glam Bag Reveal Day for June!

It's finally reveal day for Birchbox and Ipsy, usually Birchbox reveals on the 10th what you'll be getting in your box(es) if you're so inclined to spoil the surprise, but Ipsy changes the date almost always. This month Ipsy decided to reveal on the 10th, as well, which seemed strange, the 9th would have made more sense, but whatever.

This month I paired down my Birchboxes to only one, and I'm already missing my two other boxes! I may have to add one or two more this month, because I'm not thrilled with my box. I thought one of my alt accounts got some great boxes, so maybe I'll have to reopen that one at least.

Wantable Makeup June 2014 Review

Wantable is a subscription service that offers several subscription plans, including an intimates box, a jewelry box, and this one that I have here, a makeup box. They have a unique subscription service because they allow returns on the full box, or sometimes on partial boxes.

Wantable kindly sent me this box for review, but it is normally $36/month for a subscription to any of their box offerings. This was sent via DHL Global Mail and arrived in 6 days, from Wisconsin to California.

theBalm Nude 'Tude Nude Eyeshadow Palette Review

I made a fairly large Birchbox points order, and felt like I had to start beefing up my palette collection. This was just one of the palettes I grabbed, but theBalm's Nude 'Tude Nude Eyeshadow Palette is such a great value at just $36, which is relatively inexpensive for a palette of this size and quality.

Benefit Boi-ing Concealer Review

I purchased the Benefit Boi-ing in my last Birchbox points haul, and I've been using it everyday I do my makeup so I wanted to review it for you all! I got the shade 01, which is the lightest shade they have and depending on what face makeup I've got going it's almost a touch too dark for me.

My Birchboxes always seem to take a while to get to me, they sort of trickle in throughout the month, this one took 12 days to get to me from Tennessee to California. My third box came from Georgia, so why the change, I have no idea.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Review

This is the second palette review out of a few I'm working on for you! We all know and love the Urban Decay Naked palettes, and here's the review of the Naked 2 palette. I bought this one shortly after it came out. Once I found out that Urban Decay did a second Naked palette, and I loved the first one so much, I had to get this one.

This one originally came with a mini lip gloss I believe, I don't think I ever used it and I may have thrown it out because it's been so long since I touched it. 

Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette Review

I just collected a bunch of makeup palettes, so I wanted to do some reviews for them! Yes, the Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette has been out for years now, but it will always hold a special place in my (small) makeup collection because it was the first eyeshadow palette I bought, my first Urban Decay product, and my first mid-range priced makeup item!

I remember back in my teenage years going to Ulta and seeing the Urban Decay section, it was all the bright crazy glitter colors they used to be known for, and now they have arguably the top three selling neutral eyeshadow palettes on the market. I really like what they've done with the Naked brand, it's almost universally recognizable, and so many people love and own the products. So good on them for reinventing themselves, and you can still buy some of their crazy colors in single eyeshadow form or in their new Electric Palette (which I want, so much!)

I bought this palette back when it first came out (or close to release), back when I barely wore makeup ever. I didn't wear it because I didn't have any. I picked out the Naked palette because I thought it would be a great way to get a bunch of colors all at once, and I remember thinking to myself this would be all I would ever need for eyeshadow...boy was I wrong!

Excuse the mess I've made of mine, it's had a lot of use and travelled with me almost everywhere. 

Ipsy Glam Bag May 2014 Review

After last's months Ipsy bag I was pretty much done with April as soon as I saw my Glam Room and was ready for May to come. Well, my May Ipsy bag arrived and now I'm ready for June! I do like this bag this month better than last's months cheesy rock music themed bag.
