Indie Weekends: Notoriously Morbid October 2014 Vanishing Cabinet Review

I am no longer purchasing from or recommending Notoriously Morbid.

Are you ready for The Walking Dead tonight? You should get ready, because I have the review and swatches of the October Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet, which was The Walking Dead themed this month! Ahhhh!!!!

The monthly Vanishing Cabinet is a recurring $12.90 subscription, and everything comes packaged in a paper envelope with a little note explaining about this month's theme. Mine shipped via USPS and arrived in 2 days from West Virginia to California.

Seriously!? How cute is this tiny tote bag?! All the goodies came wrapped up in it, and even though it looks bigger in the photo than it really is, I love it. It's gotta be reused for something, anything!

Here's the little note about the theme this month, and why it was chosen.

How everything was packed up, there was also candy included which I ate!

Cherokee Rose - (Inspired by Carol on The Walking Dead) "A delicate, dusty rose semi-matte with gold shimmer."

I probably have a few other shades like this, but this one was very muted, not too pigmented. I think it would look great as a blush as well, and is definitely a good shade to represent Carol.

Officer Friendly - (Inspired by Rick on The Walking Dead) "A spice brown with purple, green and gold sparks and a pearl finish."

You might remember from last month's Vanishing Cabinet, we got a sneak peek of this shade, and I actually was about to put my sample into the jar from this month, and it's a totally different shade of brown! So I assume they did some fine tuning to it, but I'm glad I noticed before I did anything rash. I actually like how the shade turned out better, this is a warm brown with green glitter, a perfect match for Rick's brown sheriff shirt.

Pray I'm Dead - (Inspired by Daryl on The Walking Dead) "A weathered moss green with gold sparks. Think Daryl Dixon after rolling around in the woods a bit."

I love this shade! This is like a darkened gunmetal gray with gold sparkle. It's making me swoon already, Daryl is one of my favorite characters. I mean isn't he all our favorite?

Silent Samurai - (Inspired by Michonne on The Walking Dead) "A lapis/violet with such a strong cerulean shift and so much blue sparkle, it's the one shadow you'd carry with you during the zombie apocalypse."

Hah I love the description, I think I would totally carry this shadow with me, not that there would be any time to put it on mind you. Michonne is one of my other favorite characters, and I like this shade, it's a different interpretation of the character than I would have normally expected. It's a blue/purple violet color with blue sheen and glitter. Quite unique, I don't think I have a shade like this in my collection.

Feeling Alive Coffin Kisser - (Inspired by Glenn and Maggie on The Walking Dead) "We like to imagine Glenn and Maggie settling down and growing big juicy Georgia peaches in another life."

This lip balm is flavored like peach cobbler! These Coffin Kisser lip balms are some of my favorites, I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a good lip balm. They even have a bunch of Supernatural themed ones, which I will be reviewing soon!

Don't Think So Loud - (The sneak peek of next month's Vanishing Cabinet, True Blood inspired!)

This is the sneak peek shadow from next month, and it's inspired by Sookie from True Blood! I think it's the perfect baby doll pink for her character. I've also seen some people got a sample of Northman, inspired by Eric, so I can't wait for next month's Vanishing Cabinet!

Just Another Monster Phantom Glam Glitter - (Inspired by Carl on The Walking Dead)

I don't know if a pink and purple glitter with green flecks and a crazy rainbow duochrome is really inspired by Carl, but the name of this is one of his quotes from the TV show, so I'm just going to go with it. Guys, glitter is growing on me. I never thought I'd say that, but I want to wear this glitter all around town!

Overall, this month's Notoriously Morbid's Vanishing Cabinet was right up my alley, as I just caught up on The Walking Dead, and the shadows this month are all for some of the best characters. I can't wait to put these on, and watch tonight's episode! What a great month, and I can't wait for next month's True Blood inspired Vanishing Cabinet.

If you'd like to subscribe to Notoriously Morbid's Vanishing Cabinet, they go up for sale the first Friday of every month, just follow their Facebook page for more information, and when subscriptions go live.
