Indie Weekends: Glamour Doll Eyes Anti V-Day Collection Review

I ordered quite a few things from the Glamour Doll Eyes Anti V-Day Collection, and I couldn't wait to swatch them all! I purchased both cream shadows and liners, two shadows, and received some depotted samples of the blush and highlighter from a friend! I might eventually get the other shadows I'm missing just to complete the collection, but for one day, what I got was plenty.

AboutGlamour Doll Eyes is an indie cosmetics company specializing in eyeshadow, blush, lip glazes, gel eyeliner, and will be soon venturing into pressed shadows. Vanessa, the owner, is based in Nevada, and has been doing a monthly subscription for three years.

Shipping - My order shipped 2 days after I ordered, and arrived 2 days later via USPS from Nevada to California.

Product Size - The products from this collection are only available in full size.

Free Samples - With any $10+ purchase you will receive the color of the month shadow as well as two free samples.

All eyeshadows and cream shadows are swatched over Too Faced Shadow Insurance. The blush and highlighter are swatched over bare skin and blended out.

Cream Shadows:

Black Is The New Black - "Rich dark pure black cream shadow."

I swatched this by itself, and then with Lesian Request Denied over the top so you can see how versatile a black cream shadow is! It really gives some depth to any eyeshadow you pair it with. But the cream shadow by itself is super pigmented and completely opaque black. I was really impressed, I was worried it would be hard to get opaque and not streaky, but it didn't take much effort. I will mention this did have a bit of sweating happening before I even used it, but it's an easy fix with a tissue. It's most likely because of the glycerin in the shadow, but it's not really a problem. Just wipe off and use like normal.

The Accountant - "A shimmery medium brown with a very subtle pink, gold and turquoise shimmer."

This is a lovely neutral cream shadow, which I think would look great by itself, or paired with another shadow over the top. I love the gold shimmer it has, I'll probably be wearing this by itself for a one shadow look often.

Eyeshadows:

Expecting Trouble - "A dark brown base with a dirty lavender overlay, blue to purple duochrome shift and lots of blue & purple sparkles."

This shadow was the February gift with purchase shadow of the month, which normally I wouldn't swatch, but this one is an extension of this collection! And it's still available for purchase even though it's March and there is a new gift with purchase shadow. I was surprised by how much sparkle was in this, and a bit of duochrome. It's like a soft muted lavender with tons of rainbow sparkles almost.

Lesbian Request Denied - "A dark gray base with a pink sheen, shimmer and shine."

It surprises me that this is a dark gray base because it looks like purple-ish to me. I love the sheen in this, and in the jar it almost looked like a purple with gold shimmer.

Pornstache - "A dark brown base with a blue to silver sheen and a subtle red and copper shimmer."

If you couldn't tell, I pretty much bought all the purple looking shadows, but it was only because the others looked like shadows I already owned. This one is more of a gunmetal gray looking shadow with the blueish silver sheen.

Face:

Dandelion - "A pale creamy yellow with a golden pink sheen."

This was one of the products I received a small sample of from a friend. I didn't want to spend more on the release of this to get the full sizes of this and the blush, but I might have to go back and buy them when they come back in stock! This is a beautiful yellow to golden highlighter, and I really like it!

Red Mafia - "A semi metallic red with red sheen and tons of red sparkles."

This blush looks more like a burgundy to me, with lots of sparkle in it. They look more pink to me, but this blush is pretty pigmented. Best to use it with a light hand. Or as an eyeshadow because it's eye safe as well! This was another that I received a sample from a friend, so I might be buying the full size.

Liners:

Butch - "An army green with a slight brown undertone and lots of green, gold and copper sparkles."

I love the liners from Glamour Doll Eyes, they are so creamy and easy to use. I think they could even easily be used as a cream shadow as well. This shadow has tons of gold sparkle, but I had a bit of trouble getting it to be opaque.

Prison Wife - "A slightly blackened metallic gold with red sheen and sparkle."

Oh wow this was so metallic! And it went on so smoothly, it's like a bronzy shade with gold sparkle. And same with this one, it would be such a fun cream shadow.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the products out of this collection that I did decide to purchase. I might have to go back for full sizes of Dandelion and Red Mafia, but I really liked everything! If you haven't tried Glamour Doll Eyes cream shadows or the liners yet, I would highly recommend them. I don't think I can pick a favorite! I especially love The Accountant, Expecting Trouble, Red Mafia, and Prison Wife.

Customer Service - I did not have to contact customer service regarding any problems with my order.

Availability - These products will be restocked as long as Vee still has labels available for them. Once the labels run out, they will be gone.

Overall SatisfactionI really liked The Accountant, Expecting Trouble, Red Mafia, and Prison Wife. The cream shadows and liners are my favorite categories of products from this collection.
