Indie Subscription: Glamour Doll Eyes April 2015 OTM Review

I couldn't wait for this month's Glamour Doll Eyes OTM because it's my birthday month, and because the theme was Crazy Cat Lady! I loved the look of the blush because I've been so into trying new blushes lately. And how can you resist a cat theme?

AboutGlamour Doll Eyes is an indie cosmetics company specializing in eyeshadow, blush, lip glazes, gel eyeliner, and will be soon venturing into pressed shadows. Vanessa, the owner, is based in Nevada, and has been doing a monthly subscription for three years.

Here's the box everything came in this month. I love the detail on the label art, with the "starter kit" part looking like it's coming off the page.

Shipping - The OTM ships between the 10th and the 14th each month. This month mine arrived in 2 days via USPS from Nevada to California.

Product Size - The eyeshadow and blush this month are full size. As well as the bonus lip balm from Notoriously Morbid.

Free SamplesThere are usually free bonus samples included with this subscription, but it's not guaranteed every month.

Eyeshadow swatch is done over Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer. Blush swatch is done over bare skin and blended out.

How freaking adorable is that cat blush label art! I love it! We also got some Swedish Fish and a cat charm as extras.

My gorgeous friend Elizabeth was featured on the info card this month!

TMI (Try More Indie)Polish Addict - Use code PANC15 for 15% off your purchase (Expires May 31st).

I've never heard of this company for the Try More Indie this month, but the polishes look really pretty! It appears they have a subscription box too, so check that out if you're interested in a nail sub.

Bandit - "A wash of green and golden sheen with a subtle brown undertone, finished off with a canary sparkle."

This is an interesting shade, it's kind of a mossy green with tons of sparkles. It has a base of brown sparkle, and then even more sparkle on top. I bet it would look killer over some Glitter Fix.

Purr-suasion - "A matte brown based mauve with a slight green sheen."

I love the green sheen this blush has! It's super pigmented though, so only the tiniest bit is needed. I actually had to take a bit off of my swatch because it was too heavy, and even still it's pretty dark. Just be cautious when using as such. It would make a beautiful eyeshadow as well. I'd love to try this over some Pixie Epoxy as a shadow.

Notoriously Morbid Yes, Meowster Coffin Kisser - "The perfect little ole' cat lady mix of herbal lavender, a touch of musk, and creamy vanilla."

I really have no idea why Notoriously Morbid thought it was a good idea to flavor a lip balm with lavender, but it didn't work out for the Vanishing Cabinet lip balm, and it doesn't work for this one either. It seemed ok at first, but the longer it sat on my lips, the grosser it smelled and tasted. I have too many lip balms anyways, I can live without this one.

Overall, I really enjoyed this month's OTM and it had a total value of $18. It was worth it for me just for the eyeshadow and the blush, as I love getting new blushes. The lip balm was a dud for me, but might be ok for others. I'd love to try a look combining the eyeshadow and blush together in an eye look, as well as the blush on the cheeks for the ultimate Crazy Cat Lady look! While the blush is pretty dark, I am confident I can make it look lovely with just the lightest amount, and I love that it's versatile enough to be used for several different applications. I bet it would also work really well as a transition eyeshadow shade.

Customer Service - I did not have to contact customer service regarding any problems with my subscription. However, Vee did include some extra info cards from last month's box which had my face on the front!

Availability - The OTM is currently being voted on the method for next month, whether that be a lottery or general sale.

Overall Satisfaction - My favorite this month was probably Purr-suasion, for the color as well as the amazing cat blush label art.

  1. Aw I love the taste of lavender, I even make lavender ice cream and we've infused blueberry mead with it.

    1. I actually don't mind it either, I've had good lavender vanilla lip balms before. But for some reason this one tastes like it went bad or something. I know they had another balm in their subscription that didn't mix well with another ingredient or something and the taste went off. This one just seems off too.
