Sephora Honey Mask Review

I don't shop at Sephora much anymore, but everyone has been talking about these sheet masks that I had to try one! I added on the Honey mask to be able to get my birthday gift, and I have some thoughts! Let's just get to the review.

The Sephora Honey Mask is a basic sheet mask, which has some interesting packaging. The mask foil packet comes inside another sleeve which seems unnecessary, but it does make it look unique. I noticed the ingredients look pretty similar to a Korean sheet mask, and this one is made in Taiwan, which is fairly common for sheet masks.

The sheet mask itself is a fiber mask, which is much thicker than regular sheet masks I've used before. It is also stamped with the Sephora logo. I noticed that the sheet itself is huge, and didn't fit my face well because it's so thick. There also was not a lot of essence in the package. It stayed on ok, but didn't feel wet enough and also didn't stick well to my face. There was no scent. Usually I find that the other honey sheet masks I try have a very pleasant sweet honey scent to them. This one smelled like nothing.

In terms of effect, the mask was a bit cooling, but near the end it felt like it was irritating my skin a bit. I removed it and my face was a bit red on one side, but this subsided by morning. It didn't appear to do anything special for my skin. The honey mask is supposed to be for nourishing and balancing, but it didn't seem to do either. I've only had one worse mask experience, but this wasn't very good.

I want to also mention the price point. These sheet masks are $6 each...let that sink in for a minute. $6 for a one time use product that isn't even as good as regular Korean sheet masks that cost a whole lot less? I wasn't impressed by this mask at all, and the price just feels like a slap in the face. As if they know people will pay it just because it's Sephora. Not I. I'll stick to my $1-3 sheet masks I can get online or in Korean beauty stores. Some of my favorite brands include Holika Holika, Innisfree, Skinfood, and My Beauty Diary. Check those out if you want a quality sheet mask.

What did you think of the Sephora sheet masks? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I'm glad you reviewed these; I've been itching to try the rose mask and it just doesn't look worth it at all.

    1. I had the feeling I would have a different opinion than most everyone else, so it was a good experiment! But yeah no, they are not worth $6 I don't think.
