What I've Got In My Makeup Bag

I just got this cute (I say cute, B says gaudy) clutch from a Julep purchase, and wanted to see if it would fit my makeup that I take when I go over to B's house. And I thought this would be a nice chance to see what makeup I use and have been loving from some of my subscription boxes!

You can't tell but there are 2 Naked palettes in there so I'd say it fits a lot! I might take one of those out though to fit my beauty blender. Looking at it, it seems like a lot, but I usually go over there for a week or so, I like to have options, and I use it as a chance to try some of my samples I haven't yet tried yet. Mostly because when I'm at home and not going out I don't do my makeup. Some of the samples in there I haven't tried yet, but hopefully I will when I am over there. I'm hoping I can convince B to share the skyn Mud Mask with me, I think he'd get a kick out of that.

Here's what else I've been using lately/got in my bag:
  • Nourish Organic Face Lotion, and Argan Face Serum - The lotion goes with me to boyfriend's because it's a small sample I got from my January Ipsy Bag. Serum is from February POPSUGAR Must Have, and I use it at home after a shower. Both are wonderful and I would purchase again. I recommend any of their products.
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 and 2 - I love these palettes, really I could probably go without buying any more eyeshadow for a while. I do want to eventually get the Naked 3 palette, because from what I've seen it's got some beautiful colors that would be really flattering on my skin tone.
  • Tweezers - I always take these in my bag, my eyebrows are kind of unruly. I don't think they could ever be tamed.
  • Beauty Protector Protect & Oil, and Protect & Detangle - I love this stuff, I will be sad when my samples run out because I'll definitely have to purchase these. Makes my hair soft, manageable even with split ends, and smell wonderful.
  • Dr. Lipp Nipple Balm - I still have some of my sample of this from my January Birchbox, and I like to use it as a lip gloss, when I don't want a tinted lip gloss.
  • Buxom Lipgloss in Dolly - I just got this as a replacement for my February Ipsy Bag POP Lip Gloss and I love it. Great color on me.
  • Beauty Blender - I love this thing, got it in my January Glossybox, which was basically the spoiler that made be subscribe. Makes my face look airbrushed when used with my Clinique Foundation.
  • LaFresh Nail Polish Remover Packets - I bring a few of these to redo my nails if my mani starts to peel.
  • Julep Nail Polish - I always bring a few colors to redo my nails in case my current mani starts to peel off. I haven't had bare nails in a while, and my worry is that I'll go back to biting them. I would rather keep them freshly painted.
If you'd like to try any of these beauty and lifestyle subscription boxes, here are the links to do so:

  • Birchbox - $10/month for 4-6 beauty and lifestyle samples. You can also review your products each month for points, 10 points for each product, 100 points = $10 on the Birchbox shop to purchase full size items. Usually higher quality and higher price point samples.
  • Glossybox - $21/month, for 5 full size/deluxe size products/samples. Usually included are products from other countries that are harder to get in the United States. Sometimes they also include tools.
  • Ipsy Glam Bag - $10+tax/month for an original makeup bag filled with 5 full size or samples every month. Leans more towards lower end brands, but more likely to receive full size items. You also get a new makeup bag every month.
  • Julep Maven - $20/month for 2 nail polish colors and a beauty product, or 3 nail polish colors. You get to pick and choose which colors you'll be getting, they offer add ons, and upgrades. You receive Jules for taking your box, which can be redeemed for boxes or add ons each month.
  • POPSUGAR Must Have - $40/month for a box full of full size beauty, lifestyle, fashion, fitness, and food items. Always has a value greater than the box cost.
